Often referred to as San Diego’s mid-city communities, Kensington and Talmadge are loaded with beautiful Spanish style homes, Craftsman and mid-century gems.  Most homes feature lathe and plaster craftsmanship and unique “one-of-a-kind” design.  Many of these charming homes are located on canyons, giving a private feel yet these mid-city communities are only ten minutes to Mission Valley, Downtown and the beaches.

Technically two separate communities, Kensington lies just to the west of Talmadge. However, more often than not, the two areas are often grouped together.  Founded in the early part of the 1900’s the two communities have worked hard to maintain their small town feel.  Both host annual traditions such as neighborhood block parties, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades and Basketball Tournaments.

The architectural style of the communities includes Cape Cod cottages, Spanish Revival and California bungalow.  Prices for single-family homes start in the low $200,000’s and can reach over $2M.  Condo’s and townhomes start at mid $100’s and can reach the low $300,000’s.
